Tyler Myers Repeat Performance?

Tyler Myers will be a big key to this season. Proving that his rookie season was not a fluke, which he won rookie of the year. He knows how to come through in the clutch, which is a good trait to have on the team. He showed this when he scored the shootout winner in the sixth round against the Lightning. He has 11 goals with 37 assists in 82 games with the sabres. He also lead the team in total ice time.

Ryan Miller's play will have a huge impact to whether or not the Sabres are in playoff contention at the end of regular season play. Since the Sabres really only have one potential 40+ goal scorer (Vanek) our goaltending will have the be superb. Miller has shown that he can be the best. He carried the USA Olympic ice hockey team to a silver medal. The key to the season will be making sure he does not get overworked and by that, preventing mind lapses that result in "easy" goals.

Acqusition of Jordan Leopold

Darcy Regier, the Buffalo Sabres GM announced on July 1st that the Sabres have signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Jordan Leopold to a three year contract. Last season with Florida and Pittsburgh he had a career high 11 goals along with 26 assists in 81 games. Also, he played in 8 games with the Penguins in the 2010 playoffs. Also, he is supposed to be very physical while on the ice, which is what the sabres is lacking.
